Angler-in-chief

An expedition for those who fish with purpose.

Caño Bocón is not a place you simply visit. It’s a place you commit to. Tucked away in the dense Amazon rainforest, this river winds through one of the most remote and powerful ecosystems in South America. Its waters are dark, tannin-stained and deceptively calm. But beneath the surface lies the real challenge: elusive, powerful fish that only the most patient and prepared anglers ever meet.

This isn’t a numbers game. Here, every strike is earned. The peacock bass (tucunaré) that call Caño Bocón home are massive, smart and wild. You’ll fish for hours, sometimes days, waiting for that one explosive moment: a true Amazon trophy. Some of the biggest tucunaré ever landed in Colombia have come from these waters.

Getting here is part of the journey. After arriving in Bogotá you’ll fly to Inírida and ride three hours upriver by boat to our lodge. Those who make the effort understand: Caño Bocón is not for everyone. It’s for anglers who want more than just fish — it’s for those who want to hunt.

We operate with small groups, experienced local guides and deep respect for the land and its people. The result is not just a fishing trip but a personal expedition you’ll remember for the rest of your life — not because it was easy, but because it was worth it.

Why us?

  • Deep knowledge of the river. We’ve fished Caño Bocón for years. We understand its moods, levels and the habits of its fish, and our guides adapt each day’s plan to maximize your chances of landing a trophy.
  • A true alliance with the jungle and its people. We operate hand in hand with the local indigenous community. Our guides are river people who grew up fishing these waters. Your presence supports conservation and real livelihoods.
  • Built for the river, with the river. Our lodge was built right here over two years, with the local community and native wood: private cabins, good beds and natural ventilation. It’s not luxury — it’s exactly what the Amazon should feel like: real, warm and honest.
